A resource for Consortium Partners

REDCapU offerings are one-day workshops, designed to provide Consortium members with in-depth guidance to all things REDCap. Class sizes are between 30-60 people to allow for hands-on learning and maximum opportunities for group discussion.

REDCapU attendee profile

REDCap consortium members who install, maintain, and support REDCap at their partner site. End users are not eligible to attend REDCapU. To be clear: this is for administrators only – NOT end users.


We anticipate having two different types of workshops: one for beginners and one for more advanced administrators. The granularity and selection of a sub-set of topics (from a broad topic list provided by Vanderbilt REDCap) is determined by registrants. Registrants are given topics to rank and time is allocated to the topics most highly ranked.


Half of the day is a high-level overview, presented lecture-style. The second half is more hands-on and involves small group discussions.


Vanderbilt staff and faculty as well as guest speakers from other Consortium institutions.

The end goal is for participants to walk away with the tools to leverage REDCap to its fullest potential at their institution.


  • You must work at an institution that has a signed REDCap license agreement.
  • It is NOT a requirement that REDCap already be downloaded and installed at your institution. There will be a session on installation/upgrades.


The registration fee varies per session but will be between $120 – $500. The fee will include materials, snacks and a lunch.

REDCapU Policy for Refunds


It is our policy that a refund may be granted to a registrant in the event that they provide notice of their cancellation no less than 30 days prior to the course date. For instance, for the course on November 13, registrants have up until October 14 to cancel registration.

If a registrant would like to withdraw from a course less than 30 days in advance, a refund is at the discretion of the Program Director and may or may not be granted.

Transfer of registration fee

A registration payment may be transferred to another person for the same course. However, a registration payment may not be carried over to a course in a different fiscal year. For instance, if a registrant has to withdraw from a course taking place November 2017, the registrant can use that fee to attend a course in April 2018 but not a course July 2018 or later.

REDCapU Procedure for Refunds

In order for a registrant to cancel their participation, they must do so by completing this cancellation form. Tabitha David-Williamson will be notified of the registration cancellation and will determine whether the registrant is eligible for a refund. If a refund is due, Tabitha David-Williamson will complete the reimbursement for the registrant.


The registrant will be given a full refund for the amount paid for the course(s) they are withdrawing from and the money will be returned via the same form of payment. For instance, if the registrant paid by credit card, they will be refunded to the same credit card with which they paid. If they paid by check, they will be refunded by check. Registrants should allow up to 10 business days to see a credit card refund and up to 45 days to receive a refund by check.
